Sonore Computer Audio     *Premier Dealer*

The sound has to be in concert with the music...

Sonore was founded with a simple question....how do we play hi-resolution music?

As it turned out playing hi-resolution music was the easy part while making them sound good was not. When large off-the-shelf computer hardware with complex software players were the norm we preferred making things smaller and simpler.

When the thinking was that 1s and 0s didn't care about the quality of your power supply we preferred making things cleaner. When computer audio meant using computer parts we preferred audiophile inspired designs. When the audio industry seemed content with business as usual we preferred to call for change one product at time.

It's time to be inspired again by your music.

PS Audio

Hegel

Stylish Norwegian amplifiers, pre-amplifiers, DACs and CD players

The story begins in 1988. Bent Holter - student at the Technical University in Trondheim (NTNU) decided to do a thesis under the original design of the amplifier transistor that would cure the problems of classical systems.

Enemy number one - harmonic distortion. Holter somehow could not accept the fact that when we give a simple signal to the amplifier, you will get that signal plus something else - distortion produced by electronics. Fighting distortion usually meant the deterioration of other parameters, including damping factor. Holter decided to break out the classic schemes and developed a project that became the basis of what we know today as SoundEngine Technology.

And where the name of the company came from? Well, after hours Bent played in a rock-metal band called The Hegel Band. When they needed amplifiers for concerts, Holter suggested building them himself. His ideas took on real shape, but it took lots of money to refine the technology. Help came from Telenor - one of the biggest players in the telecommunications industry.

Today Hegel is one of the best established brands in Hi-Fi market, producing integrated, pre and power amplifiers as well as CD players and some of the most modern and sophisticated C/A converters. The SoundEngine Technology was just a start. Today there are six more original technical solutions in Hegel's portfolio. The company has dealers in 32 countries and its products are sold all over the world. Awards and press reviews speak for themselves.

Benchmark Audio

Revolutionary acoustic engineering

Benchmark began in 1983 as the "Benchmark Sound Company", a small operation working out of a garage in Garland, Texas. Our founder, Allen H. Burdick, began by building very high-performance audio equipment to meet the specialized needs of television broadcast facilities.

The company quickly grew, and was incorporated as Benchmark Media Systems, March 5, 1985. Benchmark expanded into additional audio markets, and relocated to Allen's home town, Syracuse, NY.

To this day, all Benchmark products are designed, assembled and tested in our Syracuse facility.

Audeze Audio

Revolutionary acoustic engineering

Audeze’s origins go back to 2008 when founders Sankar Thiagasamudram and Alexander Rosson met engineer Pete Uka who developed specialized flexible circuit materials for NASA. They quickly realized the material might be perfect for headphones. That’s when Dragoslav Colich, who has 30+ years’ experience in designing planar drivers, joined the team as CTO to create the LCD-1 headphone. Then we created the legendary, award-winning LCD-2 and LCD-3 headphones, and the higher-efficiency LCD-X and XC models.

More recently, we made planar magnetic technology accessible to a wider audience with the EL-8 and SINE series headphones. Audeze turned to their strategic partner Designworks, a BMW Group Subsidiary, for the cutting-edge industrial design for the new headphones as well as the Deckard DAC/Amplifier.

Audezefeature proprietary planar magnetic designs with extremely thin-film driver materials and powerful custom magnets. Planars overcome many limitations inherent in typical cone drivers; our lightweight diaphragms are, for example, faster and more responsive than heavier moving-coil or dome drivers.

Planar magnetic diaphragm also have a voice-coil circuit spread across the diaphragm surface. The diaphragm’s voice-coil circuit interacts with the magnetic field to produce an electromagnetic force that moves the diaphragm back and forth creating the sound you hear when energized by an audio signal.
